GAME #4 DELAYED!!!!
Homunculi...
We were supposed to have a game tomorrow against "Blunt Trauma"... however, they have asked if we could reschedule due to the fact that they have finals this week. lex and i agreed that we should reschedule!
tentatively, this game will be moved to next monday (may 17) 6pm... field CS. i will send a reminder email as soon as i know "FOR SURE" that we are playing then!

Game #3 Tonight vs Wrath of Path!

Game #2 Summary
Homunculi...
Great effort last night! there were some good bats and great plays on defense. As always, our rivalry with the BME team is always exciting! Although we lost (9-10), this gives us all the more reason to beat them the next time we play them! Game ball goes to Christa for some solid defensive plays (nice grab on that line drive)!
I wanted to say thanks for everyone who stuck around afterward to drink and eat. the unity in our team is what makes us great!

GAME 1 RESULTS
Homunculi!!!
Victory in our first game of the season! congratulations to everyone! it was a sloppy, rainy, wet night, but we prevailed in a 5-8 slug fest!!!
"The Outliers" put up a good fight into the last inning, but "The Homunculi" prevailed! The first "Game Ball" of the season goes to GRAZI for her awesome showing at bat, and for showing up to make our team legal!
We play our next game on Monday evening on field 5 vs our 'arch nemesis' "Dilbert". Jeff D is on foodz and Joe D is on beerz!
We BARELY had enough people to field a team last night, so please let me know if you will not be able to make the game!
Also wanted to remind people that they can pay Lex the 7$ for the field rental on monday and that if you are interested in buying a new shirt this year (recommended), that you should tell Ben Kolber and he will fill you in on price and availability (ps: i want my same number again ben!).

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME SOFTBALL!?!?

This week begins our journey to the "Washington University School of Medicine Dean's Softball Championship Cup"!!
We will be playing tomorrow: Thursday, April 22nd vs "The Outliers" (Biology). We are playing on "Field 8" at 6pm. Fort those newbies, you can see the map that i have attached to this email for locations of all the fields (i also put the schedule on there again too, just in case you misplaced it).
Food responsibilities for the week go to Trenton H!
Irish Dan is bringing the Beer!
Finally, in sad, sad news... our good friend maria elena diego "el nino" morales has injured her foot and will not be playing this week. in fact, she is "out" for an "undisclosed" amount of time. She has agreed to come to the game and root us on if anyone can pick her up. If you are able to, please email her at moralesme@gmail.com .

Scrimmage Reminder

just a reminder that we are having a scrimmage against BUYA this Wednesday at 6pm. we have not gotten the "food and beer schedule" up and running yet, so if there is anyone who would like to volunteer to bring burgers/brats/beer to this game, please let me know!

Practice and Scrimmage
Homunculi!!!
2 quick things!
1) it looks like friday is going to be a great day for a "practice". we will do our usual batting practice and possibly run some drills. i may hit balls to the outfielders while someone else hits grounders to the infielders. i think it will be good just to get our "feet under us" so to speak.
so, lets plan on meeting this friday, APRIL 9th at 5:30pm on field CS. i hope everyone remembers which field is "CS" (if not please email me). if CS is taken, we will relocate.
2) the first annual Mighty Homunculi/ BUYA BBQ and softball scrimmage is ON!!! after weeks of negotiations, zac and i have agreed that WED APRIL 14th will be the best option for both teams. (sorry for all those folks who picked friday to scrimmage).
we will start the game at 6pm and meet (again) on field "CS".
i hope to see you all there this week and next!

Practice!
Hello Homunculi!!!
First order of business: we should have a practice sometime this week. it looks as though it is going to be a crappy weather week however, and the only day that has potential to be decent is going to be friday.
fire back and let me know if friday works for you!
Secondly, it looks like we are going to have a pretty decent sized team this year again, we are approaching the 20 person roster that made us famous last year!!! with that in mind i wanted to start considering food/beer schedules. i know Ben organized this last year. hopefully he can do it again this year?!? *hint hint* ;) ;)
i also wanted to welcome new "homunculi": Trenton Hoffman, Dan Obrien and the dirty duo of Dan Peterson and Syd schaefer.
Thirdly, i am still in communications with Zac from BUYA to determine the day for the scrimmage. i told him that tues, wed and friday next week are our favorite days, hopefully one of those days will work for their team as well!
and finally keep your eyes peeled for the schedule arriving this week!

I received word today that the "regular season schedules" and fee information will be made available NEXT WEEK!!! Stay glued to this blog!
I also wanted to pass on this bit of information; Wrath of Path is having a hard time finding enough players to field a team, and if you know anyone from any program that is interested in playing for Wrath of Path, to send an email to Erin Filbert (elfilber@artsci.wustl.edu).

WELCOME TO SOFTBALL 2010!!!
Mighty Homunculi!
first the bad news. sadly, we are losing our fearless leader and captain (oh captain my captain) Christopher Rasputin Fetsch to the soggy lands of the great northwest (seattle). in his leave, he has graced current "team mom" Alexis Ethel Webb and myself to be Co-Captains for the start of the '10 season! Sadly though, Lex will be leaving us for greener pastures across the pond halfway thru the season, leaving us "mom-less" unless Abigail B Vanderheyden can step up her game and take the reigns as "team mom" (for now we will just call her "team mom in training".
On a brighter note... it is that time of year again! softball begins the week of april 19th. i am sending this email for 3 reasons... 1) to verify that you will be able to play this year again! 2) to assess interest in having some "informal" practices in the coming weeks to prepare for the season and 3) to assess interest in having a "preseason BBQ and Softball scrimmage" with the folks over at Booyah.
please let me know in the coming days how you feel about this
again, the parks department will be assessing us a (i believe) 100$ fee for use of the fields, so we will need to do a collection depending on how many people we get this year to help pay for the field fee.
the schedules for the spring season have not been posted yet, but i will update you all as soon as i know more.
